Alejandro Rosales Mayr
Senior Director
Alejandro Rosales Mayr is a Senior Director at Frontera Capital Advisors, a Miami-based advisory firm specializing in M&A, capital raising, and restructuring, serving corporate clients, financial institutions, and private equity active in Latin America (LatAm). He brings 17 years of experience advising institutional and private clients across LatAm and the U.S. on cross-border transactions, portfolio strategy, and investment.
He began his finance career in New York in Goldman Sachs’ credit risk department, focusing on LatAm corporates and sovereigns. He then joined UBS Asset Management’s LatAm and official institutions team, working with central banks, sovereign wealth funds, and institutional clients across asset classes and global investment strategies. In Brazil, he partnered with the country’s largest asset manager, leading pension funds, and UBS’s local unit to invest abroad. He later joined Santander’s financial institutions group, working across the Americas and leveraging the bank’s funding, transaction banking, and markets platforms to serve clients and execute new business with U.S. asset managers, LatAm banks, sovereigns, and multilaterals. During his time at Santander, he helped shape the firm’s approach to Central America, as well as U.S. fintechs. Most recently, he worked with U.S. endowments and foundations on portfolio strategy at Cambridge Associates, and on LatAm private equity at LARA Fund.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Oxfam on humanitarian and development issues across the U.S. and Central America.
Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, he holds a B.A. from UCLA with a minor in Latin American Studies, and a master’s degree from Columbia University focused on international finance and policy.
